Hi guys, been a while since I've had to use safe mode.
My power supply is dodgy on my laptop resulting in complete powerless when connector is knocked (battery is 100% dead) and as a result it's corrupted my boot up procedure...

I've got a wedding coming up soon and need to get some stuff off the hdd for the event, using safe mode has shown Me the files are still ok but CD drive and usb aren't operable in safe mode , is there a way of enabling them? Short of taking the hdd out and using an external case to access it from a desktop?

Yes I know I should constantly back up...

Cheers guys

Edit for spell checker

you can boot to 'safe mode with networking'
then transfer the files to a shared folder on another laptop.
If you have a bt homehub, you can put a USB drive in the back and access that to copy files to, by typing \\192.168.1.254 into the 'run' bar.

late i know, hope u fixed it already
