hey Putting ideas together form some T-bars for some small gigs. These will be positioned a the front corners of the stage next to PA stacks facing back onto the stage to light the band. They'll have some quad colour LED pars on them and couple of UV floods but I also want to get some dedicated white lights to pick out the faces etc of the band and give them some white light as well as the colours. Want to try and stick to LED to keep the power draw down and want them to be a warm temp white light rather than a cold pure white one. Now while there are a few of them about I'd like one with as wide dispersion as possible so one or maybe two a side will flood the whole front row of people on the stage and pick them out. Any suggestions? k |

personally id just have a single halogen wash per side, and be done with it - will do the job, be a hell of a lot cheaper than the LED equivalent [without looking cheap like most White LED], and doesn't use all that much power - id imagine a 300-500w unit per side would suffice. Personally i have 500w Elation TF50's for this exact purpose, one per side. | Unfortunately for face light, a bit of tungsten is the easiest solution. 2x PAR56 on a little single channel dimmer. You probably won't even need them on full. Or go for 4x PAR30 (up to 125W I think) to give better coverage. |

if you can take some warmth from leds to mix with, you can use tungsten+dim and lee 201, 202 or 203 filters or other converters for face light. When warm end of spectrum is slightly cut off, the face light looks more dramatic and silhouettes "stick out", specially if you have some kind of light coloured back drop and least one backdrop flood or pair of your leds (colour according lee 797 of course ). My 2p solution of personal preference. May or may not suit to you... ------------- torturing electrons since ...... |

| If you stick with LED I would recommend a couple of decent RGBW or RGBA fixtures. Would allow you to get some decent whites for face light and use them for colour washes from the front if desired. |
