Back during the 1970's I had a pair of Gauss 15" in reflex boxes with a pair of Vitavox CN157 Horns, modified for the JBL 2440 Compression drivers fitted, with a passive XO to an 075 with each Horn. These sat in my Living room/office for a couple of years driven active with a Crown DC500 and a DC 150 for 'high', plus a couple of the very early KT Graphics as well! Sadly due to financial difficulties I had to sell it all and no pictures from then exist. Anyway the pictures earlier in this thread have reminded me of that system..... Still have real difficulty in repeating the memories of the sound from them, but am still trying to get back there. Definitely a 'plenty of headroom thing'  Mik ------------- Warning! MP3's indeed! Projection rooms of the era of most of the systems shown, had the Amplifiers also in them and usually only had a proper 78rpm single speed Turntable other than the Optical Sound sources in the Projectors! And for the Lighting guys, Carbon Arc lamps in the Projectors with big Mercury Arc rectifiers in cages.... nice! Mik ------------- Warning! May contain Nuts plus springs, washers, screws, etc, etc. |
