A very used Ice Harrier. IIRC, it was Ice's entry level double-deck.
In that condition and with those turntables, would've thought it was worth no more than £50.

For a tenner, you got a good deal... now just find some replacement turntables!

A pub I used to dj in had an Ice amp and push button light controller, I seem to remember the amp had the transistors mounted on big heatsinks on the sides of the amp and it would get stupidly hot but it would keep chugging it out, I think it may have used bk modules, it had that look about it. Anyway, useless information I know but I only mention it since this is the first piece of Ice kit I've seen since then.

Hi , this a MK11 console .
The MK 1 used the same BSR vari speed turntables with the 33/45 and platter vari speed on the turntable deck where as the MK 11 that you have has the controls on the mixer plate with blanks fitted where controls should be .

Is this the powered model ? As I do not see a vent grill between the turntables .

I have still mine ( powered ) in the garage but have not seen the light of day in 20 years.

ICE I believe was bought by La Maitre in late 80's .

Enjoy your purchase .

How heavy is it? If there's an amp in there (even a little one) it will have a fair weight to it, I see it has jack sockets for left and right, how are these labelled and are there any more jack plugs on the sides or back?

Was it a ICE 340 amp ?

This would have been a 19'' 3u high with a V shaped LED VU ladder ?

Still have one in the garage .

The speaker outputs are to the rear / back of the turntables complete with heatsinks and 2 jack sockets .

The 4 output on the mixer plate to the right are a line outs only to your external amp .

These were light weight due to the light ply construction , even with the built in amp .

Yes! 3u 19" rack mount with a silver front panel and lots of leds, thinking about it again, another funny thing I seem to remember was there was no mains switch, each channel used switched pots so you could use one channel with the other switched off.

no sockets or heatsinks to the rear of unit, just the sockets for mixer so not a powered unit

Had terrible resonating feedback on some of these. Faders up and tap the console was like a drum over PA. Decks not insulated from console properly IIRC.

we'll see how bad they are when I get them connected to an amp . If they're transmitting a lot of unwanted noise they won't be used to play out anywhere and can stay home instead.

so here we have the right hand side of control panel, sorry if the photo is not the best , just curious as to why there are a couple of small knobs labelled treble and bass ?

these don't seem to do anything right now without speakers connected . just makes me think there may be a small amp inside even though there are no speaker out sockets ?

I do get amplified sound to the headphones btw

Back again . So I've had this thing running for a few minutes tonight and all seems well until right hand platter starts an intermittent vibration, enough to make the needle jump.

Feels like bearings or bushings have gone in the drive motor?

So what are my options? Is it buy one new turntable or junk both and get some decent i.e. improved model turntables to fit into the unit? And how easy are these things to fit?

I'm not going to throw much money at this setup, frankly if its scrap I'll just get some modern decks and be done with it.
