if im asking maybe the "why" lack... the dbx seems to carry some nice feature...berry is now 7 years that works but the sound could be better i can imagine...

DBX Isnt an upgrade really, and i dont think it would sound much better either.  Id look at dB Mark or second hand Xilica or Linea Research units for around the same budget.

Auto alignment is likely to be wrong alignment for anything other than mid and highs.

You can align your system with the DCX you just have to do the math yourself, and if you do that you will also learn how useless the Auto systems are are it.

Well. Depends on the maths - I wouldn't wanna do all those FFTs by hand!

Auto alignment and auto 'tune' features are a nice thought, but very rarely work in practice.

The sad truth is the DCX is 90% product and 10% brand name, DBX is 90% brand name and 10% product, if you want a real improvement on a DCX then you are looking BSS or XTA sized money, people think a DBX is better because of the brand and the fact it cost more, but in truth it is just blind snobery.

No one on here is going to say a DCX is a good a 4 series XTA, but no one in their right mind would say a the XTA is 10x better than the DCX, you have just spent a lot of money to get a bit better..

A DBX on the other hand is a definite down grade, awful interface, silly feature set and IMHO a vague sound..

Aye.

Proven it for myself.. Had Berry for years, then BSS 388, dbx 360 for 48hours, now much happier with DBMark.

DBMark has slightly better sound quality than Berry, but 4I/8O channels settled it.

But as previously said, you'd need to spend XTA/Klark "dollah", for effective improvement on that.
