Hi all. I have 6 18xb drivers and want to build some cabinets for them and im a bit doubtful on whats better to build, a single box or a double box?
i have narrowed down the designs im thinking to build down to this 4:

gsub vs fane en21802
sub18 vs fane en11801

any thoughts?

Singles deffo. The old Fane 200l is nice stack height if turned 90 degrees in pairs

B&C Sub18 design is a good option.

why not double boxes?

Singles are more useful , can use as little or as many. Two singles stacked give good height for tops.
Singles will get you 400 litres. Gsub is below 300. You have 6 drivers, 6 singles is three stacks

ok, i also agree with this.
the b&c sub18 has an internal volume of 183L and the fane design 200L. is that a notable difference or not?
also the sub18 has a tuning frequency of 35hz. anyone knows the tuning frequency of the fane design?

well on spec, its to 35hz too,

ive tested both these cabs ,

and id tend to side with the BnC design, not much in it tbh, both compact cabs and work very well

are any port changes needed to be done on the b&c design, to suit better for an 18xb driver?

Although not, "correct" it works well as it is. You would need to sim it to change the port and each so called sim program will give you different results.

B&C's  stacked a bit lower in height than Fane 200l. BUT, three B&C on their sides with two mid tops per stack (ie 12 + 1") would be lovely and 5 ft high

183l and 200l not an issue really but make sure you add enough to the plan to recess your baffle. The plans are silly and show panel measurements not cab. Extend the length by 50mm or so to give you grill battens etc. Cant be bothered to fight with the forums pic system so sideways it is!
Did four of these last month. Use the round speaker cut out as bracing on top panel (under pole mount on mine glued flat) and brace the back panel. If you use handle boxes like these they will brace the sides. These have Celestion FTR 600w in them, same driver as Logic do in their powered cab.
And yes, they are MDF :)
