Will the pd158 fit in the hd15? Will it sound good? I've come across an opportunity to buy some but I'm thinking there must be a reason it hasn't been mentioned before as a suitable driver. Thanks

Can't comment on fit, but compared to the PD usual choices it has a lighter cone and a higher resonance. I think it should work ok but I could not comment on how it would compare to the 154, 156s commonly used. Strong motor and high efficiency as a result.

As it is a lighter cone it may not take the abuse that other drivers might before dying, but as long as you run the bins sensibly with regards to power and appropriate high pass filter you should be ok.

IMHO, many 15" drivers that don't sound so hot in HD15, sound excellent in other 15" BPH designs.

Conclude from that, what you will.
