Have a few days of work and got bored so decided to make a few 6U rack fan units for my 12U amp rack.

I had most of the spares already so got a 2.5mm aluminium sheet cut to size with the correct sized holes and ordered a few bits.

I know its overkill but I like lights, meters and large fans..

Got the aluminium cut and drilled a few extra holes and etch primed it, Will update as I progress

Going to spray it in black today. Will add a picture of all my spares.

Are you fixing these into the racks via the rear rack-strip?
I did some work for a rental firm who used something similar, their Version2 had a hinge and Southco catch for quick and easy access for re-patching.

Nice work BTW, loving the LCD!  It would be nice to see a wiring diagram if your willing to share?

The fan unit will be fixed in place on the rear of the rack on the rack strip with 2 x 3U vents to make up the 12U. No hinge.

The audio patch panel will be on the front of the rack permanently fixed.

No wiring diagram. The 4 fans are daisy chained together and go to the IEC socket.

I may be missing something here, but why the IEC pointing outwards?
Isn't there a power source already in the rack to run amps / DSP? Which is fed from the front patch panel?

Patch panel already made and wired. No space for an IEC. Any way thats the way I want it..
