A little presentation of these Econowave / PA speakers. The wave guide is a SEOS15 with a Denvo 360 attached (B&C de250) and a 15" P.Audio C15MB300. The wave guide and driver was ordered from DIY Sound Group a couple of years back, and has since satt in storage. I got some spare time this fall, and started planing. At first this was a project for some econowave for the livingroom or home theater, but as the project got closer too build phase and the idea got presented to the misses in the house... Well short story, thumbs down  .So PA speakers it is. I have some other PA gear that i sometimes rent or loan out to friends and family, these will be a nice addition. Here are some pictures from the process: Planing.  Rare plates with Speakon terminal holes.  Side plates with handles and bracings.  Baffle  Gluing  Almost finished  Nearly finished  The day after my wife's birtay party at the local club, live band and DJing after.  What remains is one last go on the finish and a metal grill. They are hooked up to one Samson SX1200 each, through a 2way Ashly xr1001 crossed at about 1,5kHz. They sound really nice, solide and punchy bass and detailed highs. I'm currently doing measurements and tuning, they will be hooked up to a Berry DCX2496 DSP for fine tuning.

Nice. What is the paint? Can you make some close up photo on the paint? Front is painted differently? |

Hi, yes partly, I did all the woodwork about 10 years ago. It's a kit designed by RAW Acoustics, called Apex II, got the drivers and crossover from RAW in Canada. He had many interesting designs :) Belive he's out of business now though :( They sound really nice :)

Is the one like here as durable as one with large grains? Is also layer thinner here as you can see structure of wood? |

Warnex doesn’t have grains, the texture is formed by the application, application with a smooth roller gives a smooth(ish) finish, and a textured roller gives a textured finished. Similarly with a spray gun: a fine spray gives a smooth or fine textured finish, while a splatter coat gives a rough textured finish. |

As mentioned above, Warnex does not have grains in it. This is actually only one layer of paint, hence the wood structure. I applied it with a fine sponge roller witch leaves a grainy structure. I'm gonna do another round or two with filler and paint when i mount the grill.

If you use a sponge or cloth roller, it will give you a light/fine slighty texure, you need to give them more coats for the ply grain to not be seen...... ------------- Musical Roots Reggae Vibration is Life! for music is sound...sound is vibration...vibration is energy... and energy begets life. | It's just below 90L, belive they are around 15cm, it's what WinIsd sugested for that tuning frequency. |

Are the Denovo horns more readily available than they used to be? Last time I looked, they were not available outside the US. |

| No not really, except the Seos 12" horn is available at Parts Express i belive. The other seos horns and the Denovo drivers are only available at DIY Soundgroup. I used a shipping handler that did the export for me, DIY SG just sent to a US address and the handler did the rest. Not cheap, but worth it :) |

I see, thanks. Both of those options make the horns quite expensive. I've been experimenting with the JBL PT Econowave horns and wouldn't mind trying the Seos ones out. But not at those prices, I'm afraid. |

Her's a fresh masesure of these speakers, it's done inside in an not so big room so i wouldn't trust these to much. Crossover 1k5 Linkwitz-Riley 24db. And 1k2:  |
