Has anyone tried them since 18sound bought the plant? I've been told they don't look as solid. Wondering how they sound -------------  the midtops!

You mean the 12.00 sw ? we had a delivery of 16 drivers, last year... still rocking of course. We found some delivery problems with eighteen sound last year, waited more then 5 months on two recone kits. All sorted out right now, and both plants are up and running again

Ive heard that they don't have the same rubbery coating on the cone and that they don't seem to have the same punch. Is this information incorrect? ------------- the midtops!

I had a meeting with 18sound at the last Frankfurt show. Basically what happened is that Ciare has some court dispute that they didnt present to 18Sound during the purchase talks. What happened is that as soon as the deal was made public, court order was issued to seal the manufacturing place until maters are set in court. So 18sound was left with whatever they could take out until authority showed up. And that wasnt much. ^^ Very interesting, wonder if there are going to be any more 12.00sw. On the topic of their more recent drivers, I bought some ~2-3 months ago. Not sure if there were produced post 18sound take over. Main issue we have with them is the dust caps come off, the glue seems to hold but the paper peals and rips at the point its glued at. We have been running a ring of glue around all our 12.00sw dust caps before using them after losing dust caps at 3 separate gigs. Since we started adding a ring of glue we haven't lost any more.
