Hi all,

Im looking for an amp to drive 4 x 18xb1600.
Looking for something lightweight which would give decent result even on a 13a power supply.

Think you might need a Rack of these Bad boys to power them, tha can take a fair bit of power

LOL

😂😂

I was thinking matrix 7k? The only problem I have is sometimes we are limited to a 13 amp supply.

i got a matrix 7k very happy with mine.. however for 1600w drivers i would imagine a 10k would be a better match..

Cheers guys. Yes i was looking at the infinate 8 and mc2 e90 too but dont want the extra expense if the matrix will do the job. Iv been told the e90 may be better given the 13a power suply at times, not sure how true that is.

Have a friend who had 4x Oberton 18XB1600, and tried powering with Matrix 7K/10K amps.

Both were extremely disappointing, and seemed to fall well short of advertised power.

Nothing like when he tried powering them with Inf8Mk2.

He'll upgrade to K20 soon, as that's the only amp he's tried, that matches Void, for notes and power.

Just curious. How is k10 than? Vs inf 8?

K10 cannot provide power at same low notes as Void 8MK2.

Plus clip it enough, and drivers are dead.

Told 10k Matrix on dummy load. 7.2  Was a repair shop too.
Had my old XP3000 on same dummy, 1200 ish a side (which correlates with another test done and posted online and here).

People overlook the Yamaha's LMC have some used monsters and will demo, perhaps report back?

Inf 8mk 2 is still da bomb
