I've been trying to find out more on Planar Whave Bass Horns. Searched all over the net. Got a basic understanding on how they work. But, how do you model them?

you could make a for simple model on hornresp...

say your cross sectional area is 1500cm^2, make the first part of the horn segment 1500cm^2 and then make the end opening mouth area 1500.1cm^2.

something like that... i believe you can actualy get away with 0.01 at the end there and the design would become valid.

Suggests they are more of a bandpass or even transmission line like system than an a horn.  Is the term Planar Wave Horn a bit missleading?

I would have thought modelling in Hornresp would work, especially now it includes reflex loading.  Might have a play myself.  Looking for good design for some new subs.....

I have seen a plot very close to the reality, a few weeks back, in the "Planar wave horn" thread , posted by a forum member from France , I think

might want to investigate on that

Bingo, it really only provides substantial boost above where most people would cross the cabinet.
