Hi, Just a quick question on passive radiators.
I understand that the surface area of the passive radiators has to be around twice that of the active driver but which would be the best combination when building a 10" subwoofer and why? (Assuming the enclosure is a cube of the appropriate volume) 10" driver with 2x 10" passive radiators on either side. 10" driver with 2x 12" passive radiators on either side 10" driver with 1x 15" passive radiator on rear. Thanks in advance

it depends on how much travel there is in the passive radiator suspension

Assuming equal Xmax, 2x 10" or 1x 15" would be fine. 2x 12" would be overkill, but if you have a particularly powerful active driver and the 12"s don't have so much Xmax, it'll probably be about right. Dual passive radiators give you the option for force cancellation, so 2x10" would get my vote. Chris
