Good day all. I am wondering if there is any one out there who can please help me out. Currently my sound system consists of 8 X RCF L18P300’s for bass.

I am trying to find the perfect box for them. They are usually used for DJ type events.

I have heard that the EAW SB 1000’s uses RCF speakers. Does any one have the diagrams for those boxes? This is the box I would prefer, but have been unable to find.

If not does any one else have any recommendations?

Kind Regards

Darin Bradfield

Feel free to email the plans to me or just create a link.

Not tempted by WSX's? Sure there are a few box builders on here would knock you up some decent copies if you weren't up for building yourself...

i though the eaw used 18sound drivers... anyway, not to worry. you could try and design your own version of the sb1000 (although they really start to make most sense when you have ~12 a side and they really show off their small frontal profile), or design a 2 x 18" reflex bin similar to perhaps the g sub if you were after a relatively simple build.

save that, if that's all the drivers you have and you want to make as much noise as humanly possible then the wsx is probably your best bet, seeing as how the p300 is i believe the spec driver. four a side certainly sounds great and plays nice and low. have you seen any pictures of other forum members builds? they are one of the more complicated cabs you can tackle, but the results are pretty special.

Hi! welcome to Speakerplans!
i wonder what are the mid/top cabs you use? my first opinion would be that you should maybe build 186 horns for these drivers. only four of these will produce 140+ db( 4 per side i guess) and if you have 8 of them stacked together they should go pretty low too, so if you have the amps that have power to push these drivers enough, then you should get a pretty good response out of these horns.

The wsx looks good. Problem is that i can only find one set of plans for them. They seem alittle incompleat. Very difficult to build a box if you only have the plans from one view.

Are there actualy other plans out there for the wsx. or is there just the one set?

Have you done a search on the forum for 'wsx plan' ?

Make sure you search for posts ever, not just last 6 months.  there are a number of posts which have links to the plans you may be after.

I suggest you to look above:

The Plus are that:

It will be easy to build
It is a popular design with very good reports
Since your have 8 L18P300 you should look after a surely solid design.
Thank God

that last link is realy out of date soulshine...it shows that l18p300 have only 650w rms but it has 1000w now, so the max spl should be something else than showed over there.(higher) it should be ploted or something my plot shows that it gives maximum 129 db / 1 m from 46 hz to 150 hz constantly in that kind of box and to your knowledge the box is not tuned to 35 hz as they say, but to 40 hz. its a very bad pdf you just lurked out, but it shows some kind of quality/disquality of the firm...that pdf file should had been taken of that site ages ago! i dont know what is it still doing there. Pitty and shame on RCF for that, but they have developed over time and the situation is not so devastating anymore
