Links told us it was to drive Saxon 24" doubles, he did mention that the drivers where from America...........

That day all that stuck in my head was the cost, I said Links how much for a amp like that, Links looked @ us & said  "dem amp yah, ah 1 pound ah watt" LOL LOL LOL

Respect............... Big smile

Just catching up on the old threads dem. I had a look at Saxon's Link Amps. and I come to the conclusion that they are 2 x 2500 mono blocks ?? let me explain..
One case but inside there are 2 x 2500 amps bridged. thats why you see 2 x volume knobs, 2 x EIC plugs and only 2 x speakon outputs.  2 x transformers, basically eveything is in pairs. yu si mi.
That's why Saxon can't push those reflex 24"  time to step up and get some ffa 10k
Just because you got more boxes that don't make you a man....

Yes Artical Kulcha, we never play our bass above 40hz, we play roots & culture, for us the deeper the better.

Yes i, them 24"s will come alive with the FFA10k for sure............. Best I ever heard them 24" doubles was NottingHill Carnival 2004, Links (r.i.p) was behind the machine rinsing the bottom end, & they where rumbling like a lion Clap

Gee136.
Yes of course. I was there that day and it's the only time I ever heard them drop how they should.
As you said, the man Links (RIP) was there in person, so he would know exactly what power those amp really are and how to load them. The problem Saxon have is that they load too many cabs on the Links amps. simply not enough power to feed all those boxes.

Artical Kulcha.
I don't know what 2 amps he used to bridge. but someone on here must have a Link Amp. have a look inside and confirm??

Just because you got more boxes that don't make you a man....
