Just out of interest, has anyone ever put an Eminence driver successfully in a scoop?

Ditto what Lev says about the cerwins, most in that list are very old,the 189 must be 25+years old now,3 inch coil, paper cone, and only 400w...probually fine for a vintage sound, but you wouldnt want to use it in anger.
Be seeing you.

These days, 4x scoops can do what 8x used to do, because people have progressed to higher power drivers, and larger amps.

But dont forget the Kilomax does have an enormous heatsink on the front, and before it starts sucking all your amp power into that heatsink the first 400-500W of the 1250W it rated at can actually be turned into sound instead of heat!!!

Now I know what that is. I thought that thing was just there to protect the cone.

I think two lists of scoop compatible drivers should be made.....The first being standard everyday affordable drivers that have parameters that actually make them to be able to use in a scoop. Simple, everyday working class people drivers- for when you find a couple pieces of sh1t plywood,....and decide,....I think I'll build a scoop for my little house parties or man-cave/basement, or whatever, and wonder what cheap piece of crap driver can I get down the street for my scoop without the wife noticing that were short for rent this month. Not really intending on rattling the fillings out of my neighbors teeth, or soundclashing every tinpan with scoops, just a little boom boom, rumble rumble at a decent sound pressure level when the wife goes out of town with the kids and you feel like dusting off your August Pablo album. No true?
The second list being Lev approved Thumbs Up super dooper awesome (and probably expensive) drivers, for when you really really truly must have the ultimate performance out of your cab. Which is not a bad thing at all, if that is your intention.

man-cave/basement - think I'll start work on building myself a man-cave... Im sure thats what is missing in my life
