Hi, i was going to build 12" angled mids, but they seem a bit past me for now.  ive seen the double 10" plans on dancetech... but they are a bit confusing, and also dont recommend a driver/many specs to match a driver to it... im very happy to use these plans if someone could recommend a driver thats good with it... or similar plans. 
(gunna be used mainly for jungle/dnb/reggae
i will be absolutely delighted when i can get started =D

why not use or adapt the x 10 plan?(If you want a rectangular box, calculate the internal volume of the x10 then reproduce this volume).

thank you for the suggestion good sir! if i remember me GCSE maths, to calculate the area of that,  my calculations are something like..
400x408 = 163200mm3
400-240=160/2=80
80x438=35040
163200-35040=128160mm3
128160x800=102528000mm3(total cab volume)

this would leave a rectangle cab being around 400(w) x 320(d) x 800(h) i think(not sure)...

though the drivers are a little out of my budget just for now... im currently looking at between the 40-60 quid range per driver, and if you could confirm my calculations are correct i will start to calculate a cab for these drivers...

PS, this may be one of the stupidest questions you have ever encountered, but how do you calculate port holes and why would you... is it sort of to simulate a bigger cab otherwise some subs would be the size of a small room?

I dont quite understand the question about ports, could you try rephrasing it?

erm, basically i meant, what are they for... after i posted that i did some reading and read that they extend the lower frequencies / give it a bit more oomph... im not sure how it achieves this by having a hole in it?
also, im not sure how to calculate the  litres of space required in the cab, from a drivers specs (the Fane sovereign 10,275, for example,  had some kind of litre measurement (Vas Litres) but it was about 26, and a 52 litre box for two 10" drivers would be small, no? or were those parameters correctConfused)

Think of ports as changing the cabs resistance to the cones movement, with no port the cone has to compress the air in the box on its backward movement, when you introduce a hole the pressure in the box is "released" to a greater or lesser extent depending on the ports dimensions (thats how I think about it any way).

To calculate box volume for a new design cab use Winsid (guide in newbie section) this will allow you to tune the box volume/ports to cover the desired frequency range as well as possible

Check Rog's FAQ "what do the T/S parameters mean" for an explanation of Vas (its not to do with box volume though).

Calculations are basically on the right track, but when calculating speaker box volumes it needs to be INTERNAL volume.  Therefore, you need to subtract timber thicknesses and baffle offset first.  This will give a trapezoid around 204mm at the rear, 350mm at the front and 372mm deep, equalling 1030cm^2 area, and with the 800mm height gives an internal volume of about 82.4 litres.

cheers dude :D appreciate it muchly :-)

trapezoidal is a little complicated for me, i came up with this.. im using the fane sovereign 10-275 since the other driver is out of me budget (sort of, i want more for me money :D)

i calculated dimensions internally this time.. 
inside dimensions are 300(w), 738(h), 360(d)... 
this comes to about 79 litres... Winisd calculated using 80 litres, these results... (i could not get box volume to 80 litres as this would mean very precise cutout measurement which my woodwork skill does not yet allow for) :


On the maximum power chart, there is a sharp dip at around 110hz, but i thought this unimportant, as i will be crossing much higher than this. 

I will be using 2x Fane Sovereign 10-275 Driver, with a Fane FPT150 tweeterhorn thingy... 

Any thoughts?

Do these figures look accurate etcetera? Any suggestions? If not, i will get the wood next week :-)
