Matrix STR range and the 2u range, C Audio, Crown/Amcron, QSC, Crest...

All their old units are getting pretty long in the tooth these days but if you're patient, do your research into specific models and most of all, find a clean well looked after one it should do you fine. Worth changing PSU caps at the very least, maybe all the electrolytic caps.

Really we need to know what you want it for,,,, Sub? Tops? DJ monitors? does it need to survive being dropped into the back of a van at the end of gigs five time a week or will it just sit there running your hifi?

blah blah blah blah blah......

Crown/Amcron for £200 maybe not, unless you know of install clearing out.

Decent transformer sub amp, for 4 ohms, eg CA18, 5050  MA5000VZ, is still £600 upwards.

Suggest you increase budget, or just not bother with PA.

It depends on what you´re looking for, ie wattage. A 600W or 800W amp should be well inside the budget.

A quick search finds Peavey CS or PV range, like CS800 or PV2 going cheap.

Best doesn't factor into the equation at that price just buy whatever you can find from a major brand name...  meaning if you look it up on the web you have no trouble finding technical specs, user and service manuals, tons of reviews and web forum chat links.

This is incredibly elitist and unhelpful.

To OP - Look for c-mark mr, matrix str/ukp, behringer ep, alto, qsc rmx, peavey pv. cant think of any more off top of head but there are loads of contenders in that price bracket. Also if youve got facebook, get on rigresale and have a look/put up a wanted ad, loads of helpful folk on there (if not a bit too much banter for my taste :P). Hope that helps
