if i remember correctly they were using F1 array boards, they prob didnt realise that they weren't designed for mono use - or didnt care.

The unloaded ones at sensitize belonged to indellible i think?

The best bit was looking at the xtro's, one had the comp snapped off the back of the horn, and another was only loosely held by one bolt at the top, so it swung from side to side behind the horn with the bass....

ok, the whole thing looks a bit norfolk to me!!

The main rig - a monoblock of bass with the width within the wavelength of frequencys played - likely to cause some nice cancellations at certain frequencys. Mix of midtops, with different components horn lengths and xovers, 'arrayed' so the centre will comb filter the left and right stacks, and the xtros are square and not arrayed thus will comb filter themselves!!

2nd rig - complete mixup of everything and anything, lots of more expensive kit but setup all over the place. Midtops 'arrayed' in a complete mickeymouse fashion, mixed up and pointing all over the place, bass in the brute force arrangement rather than stacked sensibly for minimal fidelity loss.... interesting to say the least!!

3rd rig outside - unsure if it was intentional but looks like the stacks are around 2.#m appart, making a poweralley type effect concentrating the pressure down the punters power alley which i suppose is cool, not enough midtop really unless the gain of the subs were kept right down which i doubt.... Still, dont doubt this sounded the best, simply because its a matched rig designed to be together, deployed correctly and arrayed seemingly well - no random CV JBL 'additions' to 'boost' the midtop massive!!

yeah but you are a bit lame anyway and everyone had a good time, people came to see big stacks and thats what they got. it adds to the whole atmosphere and experiance having a mentally large system. yes there was obviously comb filtering but i bet if you went there, explained to the punters what comb filtering is then asked them if they cared im positive that they dont!

The psyco prime rig was clearly the best sounding, and wasnt actually lacking mids imo, over in the campsite i could still here the bass and mid quite clearly,

they werent aloud it loud enough for the psychos to be a problem. the 2nd rig was a mish mash of speakers, but the void was the only one really turned up the other 2 were just for show (or thats how it seemed) and the main rig was once again just for effect.

judging by everyones faces they had a wicked time none the less. its not like they were paying £100s to goto a top festival. just paying a few quid to dance infront of a stack to the music they want to hear. and the few that didnt like the sound setup, im sure will pay the extra to goto a pro festival next year.  surprisingly enough the stage with the correct splayed horns etc. was the one with least people infront of it.

im just being a pedantic speaker nerd..... thats what this place is about after all.

Ive been responsible for plenty worse a job when it came to dance events - did what i could with the tools i got! I know its about the entertainment primarily - with the sound quality merely being a nice extra.

I played on the second rig Friday and it did sound fairly good considering how it was stacked. Lots of comb filtering on the tops! At least this time the delays between stacks seemed ok. knows who arrayed the F1 though. Proper cringeworthy!

As for the rest of the rigs......
