Hi everyone,

I have been doing research on diy speaker building for the last year and intensivly for the last 2 months, it's not easy deciding on what combination to choose, can people with some experience give me their advice please.

I live in France and generally go out to freepartys where most sound system's are just an uncoordinated huge stack of all kinds of different speakers, playing hardtek or hardcore, I'm more a fan of drum & bass, jungle, dubstep etc (although I love tekno aswell) which arn't all that popular over here and I think it's got alot to do with the fact that PA system's over here just don't seem to go low enough to do justice to these bass rich types of music, which yes may sound abit boring without proper "heavy" bass.

After alot of research I've concluded that I would idealy like to have 4x Lab horns, 2x USB & 2x MT130 (or porn, limmer, etc...). Lab horns just seem too big and unpracticle for me really, so I was more thinking of 8x punisher, 2x HD215, 2x MT130(porn, limmer, etc).

Basicly my question is am I going down the right track or not ??? To sum it all up I want to introduce people down here to low frequency's and quality sound that doesn't have a F1 or Turbosound badge on it, with that give abit more of an understanding of what the bass heavy music produced in the UK is all about. I'm not really sure if punishers go extremely low or not, so please give me your impressions on this.

Cost is abit of an issue, but quality sound that goes low and loud is my goal and I don't plan to build it all in one go.

Cheers,
Sam.

yer come over francis as long as you can handle my sessions. Smile

well building ill be getting the first new pd1850 in the next few weeks there not cheap but i can handle getting four. just about.

it really did make sence for me to keep size in mind i like the idea of the hd15 infact i love it but i aint going to get the brute force from 6hd15 as i would from four 1850horn.

so ill settle for the bigger cab.

Yeah I have considered building 1850 horns, but right now my questionnings concern 8x punisher with 2x HD215 and 4x MT130, so really I'd like to hear what experienced people think of this set up.

Pipe down RUS.

Sam, I don't think that 2 HD215s will provide enough ''kick'' to cover 8 punisher. I ran 2 x-tros, which is 4 15" drivers, over 6 Punishers & that was the ideal ratio. If I was in your situation I would builld 6 Punishers & 2 X-tro's, load them properly, and power them well. It will hold its head up to all but the most up to date kit. Get some XT8's for the X-tro's, and it's job done.

well yeah I was thinking of 4 way, that's why I was asking for advice on punisher+hd215+mt130. Sibulus you mentionned xtro's on top of punishers, I have considered this setup but xtro's seem rather expensive to build that's why I was rather thinking of going down the hd215 + mt130 road, i've figured out it would save me about 300€ per side ...

So yeah please stick to info concerning 4 way system's please. Thanx
