they are fairly precise copies of the camco tecton32:4 and in the year i ran them i had do problems with them at all - and they were regularly run at 2 ohms.
they retail at around £600 - at the end of the day, the labs i run now far outperform them, but thats to de expected. as a cheap lightweight its certainly one of the best ive seen. |
I need some fairly cheap and light amps for my mid hi boxes so those can be strong contenders.

CL: let me know what you think of them when you get them running. A guy I spoke to at systems etc was telling me that the RL amps are not just an original with added DSP and were an improved design; however a guy I spoke to from EV on the stand at plasa told me otherwise? |
The guy who owns them is a big EV user. We gave the system a good chec yesterday, and yes they sound very good. Having the iris net makes setting up and problem solving so easy. im not a big fan of using laptops with soundsystems but using this system is a delight. i took a photo of the rack so will upload it latter. i think the amps we put in, are the ones from plasa....

My amprack. I may be replacing one of the powersofts with a matrix xp 3000 (sub)....cant really test them under heavy use in my garage unfortunately so it will have to wait till i next have an oppotunity to take a bigger system out.

Very neat and tidy, single man lift too?
How do you rate the Drawmer? Ever used an AVC2 that you can compare it directly to?

I can just about move it about myself (with the help of some wheels or dragging), into vans and onto low stuff. Not so fun as the case is pretty large (deep for the powersofts).
Can fit it in the boot of a taxi though, marvelous when I have no option but to leave my rig in a venue overnight.
I prefer the drawmer, more metering and more transparent limiting than the AVC2 which i switched from, lovely.

Enough to warrant the rather hefty price increase in your opinion? I rarely, if ever see the second red light on our AVC2, and if I'm close enough to the rack to see levels on the Drawmer I'd be able to see the mixing desk we use at present.
If you don't mind me asking so many questions - where'd you get the patch bay panel?

VDC for the patch bay
I often leave the system completely unattended to get a break from being in the same venue for so bloody long. With the AVC2 i would come back to find it with lots lights on and everything running very quiet, not a good advert. With the drawmer it keeps the volume constant rather than reducing, ideal for when DJ's which havent had "the talk" come on.
I brought it while i was buying those powersofts and the bss, so relatively the difference was small
