Also we use SM57's on the toms at the moment (I suppose we do also have the option of the drum packs tom mic's but as i said we havent used them yet) What is everyones preference for mic'ing up toms? Possibly the E604's?

I have just bought a load of e604's but have used them in the past, great little mics and the main advantage is how compact they are and also quick to install with the rim clips. SM57 is my favorite on tom toms though, stick with them if you dont mind all the faffing around with stands.

If I had to use only 1, it would be the MD421, but that would be a close second. I used to own one but it got nicked by some kids....They won't have had a clue what to do with it LOL

If I had to choose one microphone to do everything it would be the MD441

Our own collection is now
4x SM58
5x SM57
3x Heil PR28
1x Sennheiser E602
2x Audio Technica AT2020
2x Some cheapo small diaphragm condensor

Still a long way to go

oooohh :( hahah

Struggling to find any that aren't going for the price new or in the USA!!

57s.

Not knocking the sound, but those 604s are so light and easy to put on toms, brass or what ever.

Yep, thats why it makes them an industry standard. I was quite lucky with mine, got the kit quite cheap so they worked out a steal. Good luck in your quest fella, but you are better off butting a wanted ad up on here than on ebay.
