 Its about time carnival became a closed shop anyway if you aint giving nothing to the community then you shouldnt be allowed in carnival workshops work all year not just a weekend maybe this would make the perfect opportunity to clean out all the non carnival art people  stop people trying to show off there products to 1million plus people on the cheap where non carnival arts people can only show there products in carnival through sponsorship we will be pushing hard for this next year and i hoped this year the power will be with carnivalist again £2.000.000 price for £26.000.000 of tourism we been giving it away far to cheap for to long increase the bands ban 40ft trucks people matter not sound systems most real carnival folk will still go to notting hill regardless if its official or not thats hoe we started

I'm sorry, but I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say here. You start off by saying that:

First of all: Systems are run by people, are they not? Without the systems, I doubt people would be willing to really enjoy carnival, not in the way that it should be (in my opinion). People go to carnival to enjoy the vibes and the music, you can't have either without the sound system culture. Secondly: Making carnival a 'closed shop' will automatically make it ALL about the money and about people pushing their wares on people, admittedly you get a lot of people enterprising on an opportunity to use a free event to make money, but by closing it you will only get the wealthier and more heavily backed organisations involved, thus killing the 'point' behind carnival anyway... I apologise if I've misunderstood you here, but... If I have understood you then; a) You seem to totally contradict yourself. b) I can't think of an idea that would be worse for the feel and tradition for carnival than making it more commercial.

oh you have misunderstood im talking about mykey and his suchlike people that think its funny to stop carnival
basically band used to have there own sound systems and play for themselves with normal trucks not monster truck but the bands were seduced by big sound companys wanting to show there product and services in carnival for minimal or little money this took away the real vibe around your band as now the focus was on the noise and not the art form it about the art form first music after i personally would not take my young kid carnival behind a truck trying to put 140db into there heads madness notting hill is not the only carnival bands do through the year yes its the biggest but it really means the last for the year and most band keep some very active minds happy during the year or would you prefer they go out raiding and looting likes others as to the so called joke its like studying for a exam for nine months then to be told the course is cancelled |
