Very similar to my Shermann AL3
except im guessing thats an 8'' + 2''. The AL3 are 6.5'' + 2''..... would make more sense having an 8'' I'll get a photo if you want to compare Geth |

Snafu, the SMT212 is a DIY cab, kindly designed & posted by Staiper.
Here's a pic of one of mine, though soon they will look similar to your cabs above.

What are the advantages of a flared cab if the flares are outside the cone area?
I can understand the advantage of loading the driver when the flare is within the driver diameter.

If I could get an 8" horn here, I would modify my smt212's to look similar.

@ nickyburnell, it should give a bit more directivity to the drivers polars over a direct radiating cab however their is no increaese in efficiency due to hornloading, bit more usefull for arraying but otherwse its just a reflex afaik.

Hi kieran.built 8 of them don,t think I,ll build any more.thinking about building some compact versions using 15 8 2 for center cluster.at the moment x over is 36-125-700-2.5k-16k gonna move low to lowmid to 150 because i get more high bass out of 828 horns.I do like the look of some of the jan audioi horns. If I could get the jan 2x12 in my box i,d be laffin.
