Wierd that every time a PA system is involved the 4 subs rule does not apply!!!

not really, you have to take into account the type of box, a single reflex would be no match in spl against a scoop, but a double reflex will be close to a scoop.... to be honest its not about the size or number of drivers, its what the operator does that counts.... You only had to see what luke did with the smallest of rigs.... |

6 scoops rule on this was decided before RC1 was even considered for this event. Both Volcano and Spartacus have previously been in with 4 scoops but wanted to enter one with 6 scoops. RC1 was the last sound to be confirmed for this Today after speaking to many other non-pa sounds. No conspiracy unfortunately. Just how things turn out. Generally, new sounds don't enter 6 scoop Soundoffs unless they've a proven track record of a standard of sound quality. Which sound are you DSTAR?? |

Just saying as a patron to many of these events. It would be interesting to hear how a PA System with 4 Subs matches up to a Sound System with 4 subs (with the different systtems playing both there genre and reggae).
Also by having a PA system at the event with 4 subs, patrons would be able to compare the PA system with/to other systems that have been at GP in the past/future. Since when does domeone have to state theirr sound identity to post coments? I don't see anyone else being asked to! |

No politics and no compitition. Just comparisons (fair comparisons). Would love to turn up to the event and there are four equally sized "good" sytems each using different design cabs (4 folded horns vs 4 mini scoops vs 4 full scoops vs etc, etc, etc. (N.B vs is used to mean capared to/against)
Such comparisons would add a bit of interest to the event
