Can anyone help me, I am on my first speaker build and I have the double speakon connector for the back of my box build for daisy chaining bass subs together
I have the 2.5mm speaker cable a length from the positive terminal on the driver and one length from the negative, I know these need soldered onto the speakon connector, but it is a double connector, Do i need to solder a small bit of cable from the positive and negative area from one connector to the next one? If possible does anyone have a digram they could show me, I have searched every where on google images and cant find anything, Thanks

Just use one pair for the box, and link the other pair to the same pair on the other chassis.

I dont know what you mean?
The speakon connector I have has two connections on it, each connection has 4 small silver bits for soldering the wire onto, but Im needing to see a photo how to do the wiring, what goes onto where before I solder

parallel the four pairs of inputs on the two connectors +1 to +1, +2 to +2 etc. then connect your driver to two of the inputs - usually 1+ and 1-. if you want to do it neatly put heatshrink sleeves over the wires before you solder them to the tabs.

Don't want to be rude, but maybe it's not a good idea doing it yourself if you don't understand what they're explaining...

I know how to solder, It would just be easier for me if I seen a drawing or diagram with the colours going to which bits

Yes. If all you're trying to do is connect the two speakons so that you can input from one and output from the other to the next cab, just solder a piece of cable from each tab of the speakon to the same matching tab on the other speakon. It's as simple as you guessed above. Edited by JonB67 - 19 July 2020 at 2:48pm |
