How many pro cabs are painted from the inside too?

I know at least one manufacturer whose boxes are also painted from inside, as much as possible. All corners can't always be painted but as much as possible is painted.

I feel I should come clean before some one lynches the guy in the photo. He is actually a good friend of mine and is posing for that photo, he would never do anything to damage the speakers.

I found an hair brush in one of my cab once it was not sounding great so i decide to check it out. Also i dont see the point of painting the inside of a cab unless is going to protect the wood in some way othererwise waste of paint to me

Um, yeah, thats the point. That bottle could've been a pint glass half full of beer, been half full itself, etc, etc

In a party environment, if it could get wet, it probably will at some point.

its well worth painting or sealing the inside of a cab, esp cut edges as it exposes the laminates to the elements, esp outside work , moisture can then penetrate the end grain causing the laminates to swell, which could eventualy cause de-lamination, moisture content in the laminates can also weaken the board, not something you really want on a baffle or bracing is it? it doesnt need to get wet, humidity in the air will cause it to swell and contract .. heres an example ...  people who buy a door from B&Q or where ever and dont listen to advice like .. take the wrapper off leave it somewhere in the house for a week or 2 , then decide hang it the same day thy bought it and 2 weeks later there are gaps all round it because the timber has lost its moisture content, because it was in a cold damp place and now its in a warm dry place

I don't know if people missed it, but this cabinet appears to be an anomaly as there are plenty of others that are painted inside.

first pair of X1s i made i painted the inside of them (just one coat, presuming that "sealing" the ply could only be a good thing)... i had worked hard on them and felt like being thorough. it was tedious.. i don't bother with the insides any more really on newer stuff.

sent a pair of X's out on a dry hire a few months ago, luckily it was to a mate, as he rang up a few hours after collection to tell me that an owl had jumped out of the cab when they took the cover off, it then went back inside and wouldn't come out so he had to get the rspca out, then last week one was sounding suspicious and I got 2 crushed cans and an empty bottle from inside.
