Same reason why everyone wants a system that looks like a line array, and now as we see on another thread today, even buying drivers with ridiculous oversize magnets.

If you make choices with your eyes rather than your brain then the risk of mistake is huge.

I'm not saying it's a bad design at all btw just that it's commonly built without thinking things through.

Contradictory statement there possibly? If it was a bad design fair enough.

We have 4 of these and it was made after carefully considering hogs, invaders, reflex boxes etc etc and just happened to tick the most of our boxes (while factoring £ into it). Not saying people dont see the words 'super' and 'bass' and throw money in any direction though!

Not contradictory - the thing that's not commonly considered is indoor small venue performance (as Lev mentions) and a cabinet size which is impractical for many people.

I'm not even saying the people who build them don't love them either, I believe the sellers who say "I really wish I didn't have to sell these" when they're selling big horn systems, but I reckon the SBH has enough of a combination of appealing to people who don't know much about acoustics and being massive/tricky to get the best out of, that decisions to downsize are really common.

over hogs anyday

Wondering why you say this, as for approx a year on FB, I kept seeing people putting up SBH for sale ads.

Also wondering, has anyone actually heard 1850/1851/V18 loaded Hogs or SBH, outperform ASS S118 or SteveB/Wattco Scoop, 40-80hz, playing Dub/Roots Reggae?
Yes Lev i hear whta yu saying and its true, but it just was imho have the SBH over the hog..just wasnt impressed by hogs first times i heard them,

And yes i heard most driver/scoop combos, i reg attend roots dances so i know bro...so it just was my choice over the hog tbh SBH...im a scoop man thu n thu ...
