Just been admiring that carpet again, and noticed that the MT102's are narrower than the HD15 side on, but according to the Rog plans the MT102's should be a little wider than the HD15 on their sides. Anyone know which units are modified? If the MT102 are modified, can details be provided? |

Andrew, Mine are the modified design. All I did was remove the dead area of the cabinet sides drawing a line from the rear of the driver compartment to the front of the cabinet. This keeps the design intact but reduced the overall size / weight to make the trapiziodal shape. These things are heavy, so once again we have taken the same route as Dom and made them modular. Also upgraded to the BMD 750 woth PH 3223 horns. Amazing improvement in clarity from the eminence units. I would have loved to have brought them along at the weekend, but we are booked at events so can't make it. Steve

Thanks, I'm going the MT102 route as I need the 60 wide coverage, otherwise I'd have gone the Porn Horn route. How heavy are your cabinets, either with or without specified drivers? I'm planning to build them 578 wide and deep to match the HD15 on edge, in 15mm ply. Drivers all to be Neo, but so far my cutting list is four and a half sheets for a pair, so they will end up heavy. Perhaps I need to think about separating out the tops, would make transport & storage options more flexible. |
