I have a really strange issue i know its interference but whats causing it? I have a dbmark dp28 processor and a rane pe15.  When the rane pe15 eq is placed under the dbmark in the rack there is awful interference like radio static. When moved 3u down from the db mark it goes away. Is it possible the two power supplys are interfering? Anyway to solve it? Thanks

Yes - I´ve had some strange inteference with wireless mic receivers stacked in a rack, but your problem most probably comes from a badly shielded switch mode PSU. Or an earthing problem with said PSU.

First thing is maybe to open up the units and check the supplies. See if there´s anything obvious, ie missing earth screw somewhere.

Cheers, already done that,  on the pe15 the caps look and measure fine. Solder joints clean and  the db mark is only 2 years old.. not a massive issue but annoying.

Ok. Have you tried some aluminium foil?

May help if placed around the circuit boards!   LOL

Yes it is, but moving the power supply does nothing. Moving the unit does..

Possibly the case is not grounded if its an external psu.. can you check this? Might help if not.. Actually I just had a quick look on google and it appears the pe15 has a ground lift switch.. have you tried switching this?

Also just noticed the pe15 has an earth connection on the back.. could be as simple as linking  both devices chassis together.. might be worth a try..

It has a external ground screw on the case at the back but it doesent have a ground lift switch anywhere... maby grounding the processor and pe15 together via the cases may work. Will try that tomorrow..
