Hey guys for new years ever were doing a bit of a link up with a group of guys who have a pair of 18xb loaded super scoops and a pair of X15s

We have a pd.186 loaded G-sub and 2 x12s and pretty much was hoping someone will be able to help me with delay, crossover etc settings for our ultradrive.

The g-sub will be run on one channel of our matrix xt5000G and the super scoops will be run on the second channel. So going by matrix specs on their site thats 1800W to each side.

Planning on running the scoops from about 40Hz-90Hz (Will i get away with running lower than this or is this a safe bet?) then was planning on running the G-sub as Bass/Kick maybe with a bit of over lap so from 60Hz-150Hz then the tops up from that.

What do you guys think?

Music being played will be all sorts but think House/Garage/Dubstep/Electro/Fidget/Bassline/Drum and Bass/Hardtek/Gabber/Breakcore

Pretty much all genres of dance music apart from psytrance (our mates are doing another section and cover that)

Any other tips for running with the scoops would be appreciated

Cheers guys :)

You have to run scoop much lower! 31Hz.. for d'n'b, jungle, dubstep.

Support the scoop technology, larger mouth plays louder!

Ye?

Thought that they wouldn't hit that low without groups of 4+?

Any idea on the delay time for the supers?

start at this point, you'll see, long jungle/d'n'b/dub/dubsteb bass lines go low. You can always go higher if you think, you need no low bass btw..

Fane XBs  don't have Xmax to spare, neither do they have high BL to keep control at high power input.

Be safe, and run scoops with 38Hz hpf, 18db/octave slope.

Will have plenty of warm sub, and take drivers home still working.

Delay Gsub by 2.22M, X15 by 2.22M.

Supers Throw Humongously far, so maybe lay them Horizontal, to restrict it.

Keep close eye on the Matrix, being watchful for clip light.

leave the x15 at home, and just use the x12 for sweeter top end

agree with above

Will you not have to reverse the phase of the Supers as well if your doing it this way?

I've played with all sorts of kick bins above scoops, and delaying as above required no phase reversal, and no cancellations occurred.

i was very impressed when mixing bands on dubconductors superscoops (everything else is reflex) that their choice of not delaying to the horn path but simply to the compression driver led to very coherent bass. with hogs i've found it always to be a crucial aspect but seemingly not so with supers? i cannot remember looking at the phase however.
hope your new years linkup went well.
