I picked up one of these for peanuts last year with the intention off retrofitting a couple of phono inputs. Its was originally part of a mini seperates system that connects via a ribbon cable. Mine is stuck in standby and wont power up. Ive tried shorting the power on button but still no joy. Does anyone know if it will power up without the rest of the system (the tuner seems to be the brain of the unit) - the manual says it wont behave properly without it but doesnt say that it wont power up at all. Is it possible to fool the amp into thinking the tuner is connected? The pinouts are on P13 of the link below The other possibility, of course, is that its staying in standby due to a fault, which is also handy because I need a doorstop for the shed door Thanks, as ever

the amp will output an 'always on' power rail which the tuner will use to feed back into the power-on pin of the amp to bring it out of standby and energise the main amp rails. I would experiment with a link between the two, I havent studied the tuner to see how that's controlled.
