This was what the thread was originally about.

Instead of the silly 99x people PM'ing builder for quotes, when everyone here wants to know price, specs, delivery time.
To also stop the thread jack in 21" Mini Thread.

Third page of the thread, not one spec, freq resp or price yet.Confused

aint that breaking the rules of this forum Lev? Wink

imo theres only 2 builders of 12" phase bunged horns on here, not that hard to work out who..
Limmer is a third option, pricey compared to specs imo though
US chinese clone importer a 4th if you really dont care about specs/sound/quality
5th? have i missed something?

Specs of the first 2 are available if you know where to look, limmer specs are online, US importeurs vague specs and prices also.. no need to stir the fire lev imo

After all theres a few DIY solutions available to cover this passband, if you cant afford the better options just stick to what you have/could afford instead of starting a race to the bottom?!

Also interested in any hearing about BOKE MA912 horns.

Wasn't the Boke horn measured and it was found that the phase bung didn't actually do much of anything? It didn't mate with the driver even remotely.

that was a good thread alright.

surely any builder offering 12" horns are designing them around one specific driver. and anyone buying 12" premade horns and the specific driver for it.. may as well really aim for buying a whole premade cab that suits them?

the porM horns always looked nice, but didn't really seem in any way DIY to buy them and build boxes for them.. i'm building boxes for some floods now, but i'd never ever delude myself or claim to anyone else that i'd built the speakers at the end of it. my mt121s i do think i can claim to have built however.

i just think, looking at mykey's sp12, and the one bee has been developing, that they'd be better off aiming to sell a complete cab.

The problem with the complete cab is people do not want to pay any more than the price of the fibreglass part, and I got a great deal of pleasure making the cabs for my sp12 horns
No, it is not a line array it is some well stacked boxes...............

Only one if you want a wider dispersion. Bees horn will have a narrow dispersion looking at the design

Those are very short horns Nicky. They need to be crossed quite high.

They are injection moulded abs plastic. Cost pennies to make and are made in an instant

correct mykey, mine is not as narrow as the mt121, but not as wide as your sp12's.

@cravings, correct to build finished cab, or to sell as a kit....

@ lev plots of my horn and mykeys sp12's are all ready on sp, also limmer plots are on web too...

with the amount of time I have spent, and im sure mykey did too on design and prototyping, cost reflects this. each prototype needed a new mould, each mould took weeks to get perfect. Ive built 7 prototypes to get to were I am now, over 3 to 4 years. Cost wise each horn was only about £80 plus bung and back bowl £40, hours put in to r&d 1000 plus. cost of each mould £300 may be a bit more.

This is just the cost of 1 project, let alone the other 15 I have on the go, and a few more I binned due to not getting the results I wanted.

From a diy point of view 99% of diy members would not pay out or spend the time on sush projects.

On a business point of view the aim is to have a finished product that will sell and make a return. To get a return on my investment I would need to sell a few hundred to break even.

Do you no who many porn horns were sold...... Ive been told less than 100.... That amount would not of even seen a break even on the product....

That is true Mykey, but the tool to make them cost a fortune.
