Thinking about using this on mids/tops. Not really stupid enough to try this on sub, or 40hz sine wave test into dummy load <facepalm/> What are peoples experiences on 12" Mids/Compression drivers. Hoping is better than Berry Inukes. |

Quick look inside tells you, this amp is not for sub, it's clearly rated at 1khz.

I run one for monitors, 12" +comp, works perfect.
Used it occasionally on my double 12 hornloaded mids (2 12" per channel, 4 channels loaded ) which it did with loads of headroom while staying cool. Of course its no powersoft, but its only 500 euros with a 3 year warranty. |

Best regards,
Teun. |

I've got one of the lower powered ones the tsa700 in an install , 2 channels running Bose 502a tops 2 channels running 502b bass bins . whilst it sounds quite nice its blown up twice .
when I say blown up I mean gone with a bang , flashes of fiery lightning type stuff coming out the front when powered up . First time fixed by thomann within 2 weeks second time I've just sent it off . the venue has lost faith in it though not surprisingly . I may have had a bad one but when I get it back its going back into service with a spare amp sat next to it. if it does it again its gone.

3years warranty, solid 4x1kw`ish at 4ohm + headroom, spread the loads (kick/mid/hf) evenly per amp and you`re good?! even with a spare one they would be a rel. cheap option to power quite a lot of lowmidhi cabs, even if one goes bang you could rewire and get the gig going..
literally thousands are sold by now i reckon, if they would be as bad as some say the web would be full of negative reviews imo, it aint, to my knowledge.. of course theres failures, guess a good 2-3% rate, hence the warranty one should see as sort of a "best before" date aswell.. as sad as it is but such products are likely not designed to last very long, depending on individual app, cutting on parts costs etc. required obviously, if it lasts 3 years it should have "amortized" by then, leaving you with a resale value of about 2-300ish - seems a very economic solution for budget applications to me.. sonically i only ever heard them on LMF, no obvious issues there.. on HF a good class a/b amp might be prefered, nothing new there :) |

TSA4-700 is a different design and had a problem with caps being too close to a hot running coil, not sure if they sorted it in later revisions. TSA 4-300 is of the same family as the TSA 4-1300. So far been running a couple of TSA 4-1300's, 4 Ohm Bass (2 x 15XB's per channel) on ch 1+2, 4 Ohm Mids on Ch3 and Hi's on Ch4, clean and not lacking in sub, would turn the XB's inside out given half a chance.

Ive used TSA 4-1300's to run a bunch of bi amped wedges when I'm out of nice amps. They have surprised me to be honest, they have a lot more poke than you would think and don't sound too bad either, they sound quite bright compared to MC2 e25 and e45. When they are driven hard they tend to cut out rather than limit current which isn't ideal but for the price you cant really complain.

truth is I would never plug a Lab Grupp into my rig with any expectation on low end, but I do use 4-700s on mons/2.1 tits on stix rigs and the 4-1300 on my TMS system, both amps are amazing.
If you considet them as cheap Lab Grupp you will not be disapointed, you start connecting tea urns and doing 40Hz tests they will probably not drive tea urn well, but only a having sex tea urn needs a 40Hz tone... |
