I really doubt most companies that offer domestic routers will bother. Sad to say. People just do not care on average, but I will be keeping an eye out for firmware updates none the less.

Good thing it's patched in iOS and macOS already eh? Interesting to see how router manufacturers handle it, if they even bother. TR-069 will be a godsend there.

It's generally a good starting point to regard anything sent wirelessly as vulnerable, but I would also go as far as anything that is connected to the internet.
But there is nothing stopping people tapping a wired connection upstream if they are desperate for your traffic, SSL certs can be spoofed, there is no such thing as 100% safe and if an actor with resources wants your data they will get it one way or another. |

Don't worry Lev, I wrapped my phone in the spare tinfoil I had left over from making my hat.

So true. Lost count of customers that go on holiday and come back shouting their email has need hacked. Airports rife with it IMHO.

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/oct/16/wpa2-wifi-security-vulnerable-hacking-us-government-warns So, If you use Wifi, currently hackers can crack the WPA2 wifi encryption, and steal your data. So don't use WIFI for anything that needs to be secure. Which is why some of us Computer Nerds, always prefer wired, or none Wifi on phone, for online banking. Simples. |
