I had a set of Mackie TH12p's... earlier version with a different amp module that included a 3 band EQ, those sounded fine but where very weak and both 12's died despite being used with subs most of the time. I have since heard the current SRM line which shares that push button preset setup and those too have a very messed up highend output.. sounds harsh and phasey, I wouldn't keep those either.
The Turbo Milan series are very smooth sounding, that was one of the things that stood out to me last time I heard them. I currently own EV ZLXp's which have been great, it's also a budget box but they sound decent and have proven to be quite reliable. I also own EV EKXs and Yamaha DXRs both of which are a couple steps up in SQ and SPL from the ZLXs but they cost a lot more too.
No experience with the Thomann stuff but hope this helps.

Hello, I recently got myself a pair of Mackie thump 15A v4 for monitor use and occasionally small little gatherings. Generally there a nice pair of active speakers however I left a bit underwhelmed with the quality the highs. Sounds very echoey and not clean. Debating on returning them and replacing them with some thoman the box pro DSP 115, they look pretty damn good for the money and include a simple 3-band eq which would have probably solved the issue with the Mackie's but not they thought only preset eqs were a good idea.

I am fully aware these are budget active speakers so can't expect much but would do you guys think? Anyone had any experience with the thomans?

Thanks,

Matt
