   Had to attempt some fixing up to a 12" EV driver (which is something I would normally never do) - mate over the road came up with this .... 

I was amazed at how well it worked. He just found a bit of scrap ply, made it round-ish, turned it down (yeah a woodworking lathe is handy here) and cut that semi-circ-section groove in it - size to match those brass balls (ooer missus). Minor stroke of genius I'd say !!
