186/1850 chamber size

   Hello, i understand that smaller chamber is more exhousting for driver. Well this is the difference between 186 and 1850 (one piece of wood that makes chamber smaller or bigger). My question is (probably stupid question by i want you to explain why) ... can this piece of wood be ignored for even bigger chamber and the driver would be even more safe? im sure that there is some reason why this doesnt work. Can you explain ?
