yeah they do look great. i just need a good reliable fader that dry hires / less skilled workers can simply move up and down, KISS!

Allen Heath CQ series all the way.

While the QU is ok, it uses older processing chips. The CQ uses the same processing as the SQ and sounds way better. Yes you're relying on a little touch screen or an iPad, there are very few physical controls etc, but if it's only to set up and limit/control a couple of DJ channels this shouldn't be too much of an issue, you shouldn't need to constantly be adjusting it.

i was looking at a compact but the DM3 is just so small it really makes sense for my use case

if i saw a X32 compact for a good price i'd still consider it

I would go for the X32 personally, or a Wing if I could justify the size

Soundcraft Ui24r is best bang for the buck. But buy a new one with a 3 year warranty - some are a bit tempremental and those are the ones people sell on.

If it must have faders then Qu-16 would be my pick but personally I would take a CQ over the Qu any day of the week.

I use Qu16 it's decent board and I love my magic moving faders.

I Put X32 Racks in my disco racks.

Can cope with pretty much anything a DJ will throw at it. If the wifi falls over you can do anything from the front panel.

Has more features and better UI than the Qpack.

An SQ Rack would be soooooo nice. The Qpack isn't quite there for me.

Allen & Heath CQ is definitely the best of the small stuff, it shares the same processing chip as the SQ range so sounds better than the Qu stuff, only downside is no DCA groups but if you only dealing with a couple of channels at a time its not really a thing to worry about.

Not really a fan of the touchmix, you can clip the inputs even with no gain if you are coming out hot from a DJM and the analogue gains suck. The Berry X Air series seem to do the job pretty well.

If it must have faders then Qu-16 would be my pick but personally I would take a CQ over the Qu any day of the week.

We've been using a Behringer XR18 for years with no problems as a small digi mixer. Just got a Soundcraft ui24r for a bigger channel count and will cascade the XR into it for the really big stuff !

Mostly harmless.... except if catering is shut.
