Hi Guys,
This size of project is just what I've been looking for, I don't have the space or really the requirement for a larger system but this would be enough to satisfy my itch and keep me out of trouble. So that being said, is anyone able to share the plans please? Bee, I'd be more than happy to donate in Tonys name if you still have them. Any help is greatly appreciated. |

Ok, then I can use my current amps..for subs 4ch tsa 4-700(2x1600w@8ohms) and 2ch tsa 1400 for tops(bose 802),
For smaller gig I can use that 4ch amp, tops and one sub. As if Q12 covers the 802(91dB-SPL (1W, 1m)). |

bms rate there drivers as they should be rated, not in peak figures. So the driver is 600w but can take peaks of a lot more. an amp that can do 1000w at 8ohm would be fine with a single driver. for the double based on 8ohm drivers your need an amp that can do 2000w at 4 ohm.

So, even the driver is only 600watt rms, how much it can handle?
And is it that, how much there is "back pressure" from the cabinet the driven can handle more?

depends on were you are setting the hp and lp on the box. 1000 watts per driver also sounds about right, using a higher hp slope.

My bass bins have the neo version 12 inchers, while the tops have the ferrite version of the 8 inchers. The bins weigh 29.6 kg, while the tops weigh 16 kg. The neo version of the 8 inchers only reduce the weight by, apparently according to Tony, some 2kg per cab, while the ferrite version of the 12 inchers increase the weight by around 5-6kg per cab.

bms 12n630 is not so expensive, I think.. about 250€
If driven with 8ohms, does it require more than 600watts? As 502 is 450watt rms 1600 watt peak, manufacturer recommends 1200watt amp. I use my t.amp tsa 4-700 in bridge mode at 2x1600w/8ohms. It is capable to 2x1800w/4ohms but thomann said that there is sometimes stability problems in bridge mode @ 4ohms. It gives 4x490w/8ohms, 4x810w/4ohms. Once I ordered 18" 450watt sub, and thought it needs same power, or atleast x2 but when I played with it. It started to smell like burned electric. EDIT: So, I sent the 18" sub back.
