Oh dear, sounds like it's time to buy another one. Can't you tell them it stopped working and you want it exchanged?

Obviously don't mention the diy rebore attempt, but hopefully they'll exchange it without fuss the way Argos do when you decide you want to exchange something or get a refund after you broke it. I mean when it doesn't work straight out of the box

Maybe the OP needs a bigger hammer?

If that doesn't fix it, it's probably an electrical fault......

Does it slosh? If it's been successfully filled there will be liquid butane in it. If there's no liquid then it didn't fill. You won't get gas spraying everywhere if you use the bare nozzle to fill it; even if the valve on the iron is blocked there shouldn't be more than a small pffft of leakage, if you're applying enough down-force to open the valve on the can.

you don't seem to think that gas has gone into yours. i would discourage taking them apart! little springs and all sorts of stuff in there.

And not whilst smoking, that could be bad!

it should fill just fine. my dodgy one was a cheapo, and it was on the out that it was blocked... it wouldn't stay lit and could be heard spluttering. as kevin said try to fill it with the bare nozzle...

Maybe the output on mine is blocked then , as I think gas has gone in at some stage . cant see how that would have happened though , guess I will have to dismantle it haha .
