Hey, all. Long-time lurker, first time posting. I have a RCF L15P540, and I'm looking to build a compact reflex enclosure for it. I downloaded the plans for the sub15 by RCF, and I guess you can call me an idiot when it comes to converting mm to inches, because since I've always just used inches for measurements, I can't seem to get the measurements right. Yes, I know, just google it, but I was wondering if anyone here has built this cab, and can point me in the right direction as far as the measurements in inches. I've seen many people here use the B&C sub15 plans, and have heard good things about it, but I'm looking for something a bit smaller than that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dude just get metric measurement tools. The conversion to inches is easy, but the impractical nature of using the fractions of an inch is annoying. I am here in the states too. Our country is dumb for not going metric. Don't be dumb. ;)
There is 25.4 mm in and inch if you really want to go that way. Here is a conversion program evenhttps://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=conversion%20mm%20to%20inch but now you have decimal inches and need to convert to fractions and its annoying. Don't do it. As for a smaller box, you can try to find some other design. If you shrink this one, you will change its performance. If you want to modify a design, you are on the edge of the rabbit hole. Teach yourself how to use one of the box design programs to get an educated guess on how your changes will likely turn out.

Nothing wrong with inches. Its about understanding the scale. I think ,1 inch is close enough for any measurement.

Imagine using a measuring device that is subdivided from 1 inch, 1/2 inch,1/4 inch,1/8 inch, 1/16th inch,1/32 inch. Now say you need to cut a baffle and have the diameter of the hole to cut and it comes out something close to 11 23/32 inches and you need the radius so it has to be divided in half. Now go to the calculator and you have to divide 23 by 32 plus 11 and then divide that result by 2 to get the radius. But it is now in decimal points so you have to resolve it back to fractions. It sucks. Or you could have something like 220 mm divided by 2 and you are have your answer right there.

Unfortunately there is no 0.1 inch mark on our tools. 0.1 inch would have to be converted to approximately 3/32 inches to use a standard ruler. Again, its annoying. But here is another calculator if you want to have a short cut.http://syzygy.virtualave.net/decimal_inch_to_fractions.html Or the less accurate approximation but more likely to be on a ruler 2/16th inches.

Maybe buying a roll measure with both inches and cm is not a bad idea after all

When people talk about how stupid americans are, this should be the first example. Think of the billions of dollars in wasted time every day.
