Mine recently started hogging 100% so Ive permanently turned it off
Edit - I can still search even with this turned off, though it may not be as fast as its not cached

Running Windows 7 on a low-powered laptop for karaoke
I'm finding that Searchindexer.exe is hogging resources and slowing the computer down considerably. Opening Task Manager and right-clicking on the program, selecting T to stop the task and then OKing closes the prog, but it then re-opens withing minutes of it's own volition. The Find option in Windows Explorer can be very useful but searchindexer is a large millstone to carry around my neck as a consequence of searching. Advice welcomed. cheers BJ |
