Anyone know how to do this? my old lap top (a compag) running xp to a newish laptop running vista home?
I've been led to believe it can be done by using my wireless router but not to sure how to do it?
any help would be great!!!!!

just get a usb pen drive and copy and paste it from one laptop to the other

I did think about that but i have about 9000 photos and 5-6000 tunes to transfer, and I'd really like to complete it before I pass on to a better world? Lol
what I need is some sort of fast transfer?
would it be possable to use a external hard drive back up this laptop and then transfer it to another?

Transfer is easy, but I guess that lot is somewhat valuable to you.

I would back it all up to DVD first.... And then lock the DVDs somewhere safe...

Would then buy external hard disk (or bare PC Hard disk + External had disk case).
