Looking for a pair or two of these. Doesn't matter if they are the powered versions or not.

I'm still after a reasonably priced pair of TQ-425SP subs to match my other pair and 4x TQ-440SPs that I have!

Hello, thanks for the replies. I don't think a 445 will work. Ideally i just need to expand on the 440s we have. Is the 445 the same box with updated drivers, or am i wrong?

I've only seen one TQ-425SP box close by and thats used at the Ritz in Manchester.

The 445 is basically the same box, it has the same drivers as the 440, it just had an updated horn flare.

yeah the 445 has a better horn flare in the middle of the 12" for the HF the can be retro fitted to make 440's 445's . the kit is expensive for what it is though IIRC

All 440s came with the EV HF - Turbosound CD-103
Early 445s also came with CD103 HF, but then changed to a custom driver, the CD-114.

The 6.5" Mid remained the same throughout.

The 12" is the LS-1214 ,and is essentially the same driver throughout but the 445 used a slightly different variant called the LS-1214H which, as Djarch has pointed out, has a different flare.
The actual 12" cone is identical.

On the self-powered boxes, the amp and signal processing is quite different.

The 440s used modules built by Powersoft (apparently), and the signal processing is fixed by an internal card.

The 445s have an amp module called the 'X-Pod' built by UK company Linea Research. They are smaller and lighter than the Powersoft modules due to their class D design.
These modules also have full on-board user-config DSP and network capability.
