Looking at getting one of these or Alto MAXIDRIVE 3.4 (As soon as I find one for < £300).

What's the  Bobby Moore?

Mine has never so much as hinted at making any horrid noises.

im sure someone said you can solve this by sticking a piece of gaffa tape inside between the outer case and the connections?

is this true?

I believe this to be a red herring now.  The act of removing the i/o board to affix the gaffa disturbs the ribbon cable thus making it seem like it's the correct cure.  Just remake or reseat the ribbon connector.

The problem that the gaffa tape fixes is a seperate one to the frying eggs.  I've seen units where the board has definitely been touching the inside of the case.  Only a problem if you hit the case or put strain on the XLR's.

I have a quick ultradrive question and rather than start a new ultradrive topic i'll just sidetrack this one..

i just got a brand new ultradrive. i've also bought and paid for but not recieved an AVC2. i have to leave tonight for a festival, so most certainly won't have the AVC2.

up till now, i have been using an old Behringer Autocom mdx1200 (for some reason can't find mention of this exact one on the behringer site but anyway...) compressor / limiter.. as my limiter. and it has done the job ok.

my question is.. till i get the AVC2, should i still put the autocom before the ultradrive, or are the limiters in the ultradrive pretty much the same and will i gain nothing?

thanks if anyone knows.
