Stef what happened is not right, just hope it was not a setup cos nuff sound men will have to start sleep in there sound vans, might be a idea to bring a pit bull next time.
I know it was short notice but did the promoter of Scala try to get a replacement sound?????????? Aba and Iration would of kept the roots vibration burning  |

Gutted for you Stef, but relieved you were actually in the van, i bet he wasn't expecting that!
On another note, I saw Aba Shanti I on Sunday at Carnival. An old mate of mine lives round the corner from East Row, so we droipped by, it was RAMMED by 3pm! I have never seen Aba play so many revival tunes - Jacob Miller, D Brown, J Clarke, Mighty Three, Hugh Mundell and loads more, it was wicked. I hadn't seen Aba for some years and it was a bit of a revelation to hear him educating the crowd (many of whom looked like they really needed it). Big respect to ABA SHANTI I

NO MORE UNIVERSITY OF DUB FOR LION ROOTS SOUND CAUSE THEY ARE UNRESPECTABLE PEOPLES & PROMOTORS CAUSE They want to book LION ROOTS SOUND from extreme south of FRANCE but they don't want to pay the full travel expense so NO MORE !!!!+ I learnt that they give the full travel expense to other so NO MORE !!!! FOR LION ROOTS SOUND !!!! SORRY MASSIVE BUT U HAVE TO SEE THE ROARING LION INNA FRANCE & EUROPE . 1 LUV & ITECTION MUSIC IS A MEDECINE |

Oh dear...am i reading this correct....Stef seh de promotor of university of dub a cut his payment short so him a go leggo england and do him own ting ina de south of france. Hope this is a misunderstanding and i do hope to see Lion Roots back here in england in the near future. Zepulun can you give us all a update with the situation with Lion Roots cos we don't want this to have a impact on other sounds from europe booked to play at Scala..... Please...

Lion Roots Sound defaulted 2 dates to play at UOD - March and then August - without any notification but an explanation some days after the event. Spending time and energy promoting this sound has been a waste, when others sounds could have used this opportuntity. I & I are Rasta and LR rewarded UOD evil for good.

Like you told , I ve made explanations but not after the session, always did them before !! 3 days before for the March one and for the August one , it was explained to Humble Lion (Aba's Manager) cause I ve only his fone number and I've asked him , from a public fone, cause my mobile is not available in UK and outside FRANCE , to explain u what it was the problem , but I was in UK for August one , but some one tried to teef my van with the sound, and I didn't have your fone number to inform you , , so when I was @ home , u got my explanations by e-mail and fone text message, anyway , you talk of a behavior , but your one it's not really fair when u know that I've 850 miles just for 1 way so (1700 miles in total), to do , and u give to the I only £800 and NO MORE !!!! whereas it cost me £650 just for 1 way, and you give more to OTHERS !!! THIS IT'S NOT A FAIR BEHAVIOR , U ARE RASTA ?? I DON'T THINK SO OTHERWISE U WILL THNK SERIOUSLY OF YOUR BEHAVIOR AGAINST ME !! One love music is a medecine |

That not good business sense if it cost you 600 plus one way and you only get 800 for playing on the day, don't you agree a fee before you go to the UK dude, are you not paid half your expenses before you agree to their terms and conditions, it not inportant what other sounds get for playing at UOD you need to quote them your price for playing dude if they are willing to pay it, then good, if not don't do it.
I understand some mother tried to steal you rig but fortunately they did not Jah was watching over you lucky exscape, if you was in the UK you should have done the show not run back across the waters then cry wolf,
I would have though a lot of people pre-paid their dues to hear 3 sound only to enter the building to find only 2 sounds on show that not fair to the public and I would imagine the fee was still the same knowing promoters. As a sound system and a entertainer you have a responsability to the public when you agree terms to play then play you must unless you have family or major problem that was unforseen.
I am not on the side of the promoter of UOD as I have heard quite a few negative thing this side but if you enter into a contract be it verbal or other wise you need to fulfill it dude Edited by RAS JOHN - 21 September 2011 at 3:43pm |
