Hello lampys!
I'm trying to install lightjockey on a pc for work. I'm really struggling to find a USB driver that works. The pc is runnin XP Home SP2. I need to get it up and running by Sunday night ready to go back in early Monday before I go off on a long job in Liverpool. The link to the driver on the martin website has gone dead and any other download websites link me to Sunlite ![]() Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers. Gethin.

stray-sounds, you dont need to actually open the files.. there is a PDF included in the driver package which explains it.. basically
1. extract the 2x files to a folder (on your desktop or w/e)
2. restart pc, wait for new hardware wizard to pop up
3. click through untill you get the option to choose a location of the drivers
4. browse to folder and hit ok, itll install them
if you wont get the new hardware wizard on startup..
Open controll panel -> system -> hardware -> device manager (i think, from memory, i dont have a windows XP install anymore)..
in there there will probably be an 'unknown device' - itll have a yellow ? or something beside it, just rightclick these devices and click remove device, this will force the PC into the hardware wizard on next restart. if that doesnt do the trick, the device may be listed in 'interface devices' on task manager, just go in there locate the device and remove as before.
if it STILL doesnt work i found these instructions in a PDF.. not sure if your using the dmx converter or what, but the instructions will be the same with whatever device your using..
2. Updating the Windows XP USB Driver Checking the current USB Driver. 1. Make sure that the USB interface is inserted. 2. Open the Device Manager by right-clicking My Computer on the desktop, and then selectProperties from the pop-up menu.3. Select Hardware tab then Device Manager.4. Expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers entry (fig 7).2 5. An entry named ‘ Martin LightJockey USB’, ‘Martin Intelligent USB DMX interface’ orsimilar indicates an older driver, which may be updated as described below. An entry named ‘ Martin USB/DMX interface (Unified driver)’ indicates an up-to-date driver.Updating the current USB Driver 1. Make sure that LightJockey is closed down and that the interface is inserted. 2. Right-click ‘ My Computer’, select properties from the popup menu. Select the HardwareTab, and then click Device Manager.3. Expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers entry (fig 7), then right-click the ‘ MartinIntelligent USB DMX interface’ (or similar) entry.4. On the pop-up select Properties. Select Driver tab. Click Update Driver to start the UpdateDevice Driver Wizard .5. Select ‘ Install from a list or specific location’, and then click Next (fig 1).6. Select ‘ Don’t search, I will choose the driver to install’ (fig 2), click Next.7. Click ‘ Have Disk’.8. Click Browse to locate the folder with the driver (see above) – then click OK.9. If a suitable driver is found in the folder, the Wizard will list the drive (fig 4). Make sure that the driver is named ‘ Martin USB/DMX Interface (Unified driver)’ – select the driver andclick Next.10. A warning may appear, stating that this driver has not been digitally signed (checked by Microsoft). Click Continue Anyway to continue (fig 5).11. Windows will now install the driver. Check the finishing dialog identifies the device as ‘ Martin USB/DMX interface (Unified Driver)’ (fig 6). Click Finish.12. To ensure that the driver is properly installed and in working order open the device manager by right-clicking ‘ My Computer’, select properties from the popup menu. Select theHardware Tab, and then click Device Manager.13. Expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers entry and check that ‘Martin USB/DMXinterface (Unified Driver) ’ is displayed without an exclamation mark, which would indicatea problem (fig 7).
Hope this helps, if not. post here and will search for more solutions for you :) |
