Great find, Jazzy, look at that flying system. They must have thought it was wonderful. I wonder who the PA company was then, MEH or even IES.

Strange, I did a 'Goggle surch' on that pic (which I downloaded from a site dedicated to the 'Oo years ago) and it shows up as being the set-up for Allmann Brothers, Led Zep as well as Jimi Hendrix as well! It came from March 76 not 73 as originally stated. Those cradles were very common all the way from the late 60s up to the 90s when more systems started being built with flying gear built in/on.

For sidefills, can we have two enormous things of a type that might be venerated as Gods by the inhabitants of Easter Island, capable of reaching volumes that would make Beelzebub soil his pants.

I'll post a picture of a cradle we used in the Royal Albert Hall for the Shadows. I was working with Brian Hatt of Complex Sounds. Of course it looks like a bit of a Dogs dinner compared to todays neatness.

To Be Honest Ian, I can't remember, These were way before the MX stuff. When I first met Brian Hatt, He was using RCA bins, EV eliminator cabs and a selection of Horns. This would have been on the early Cliff stuff. It was soon after our initial meeting that I did the vocal system. After the split between Complex Sounds and Colin Norfield Colin went on to form Twin Sound Productions using the speakers as there main Tour de Force.

Great photo and setup. Was the other side the same?
I've just seen the words Rest Rooms, so it's easy to guess where this was taken. Edited by TONY.A.S.S. - 23 August 2014 at 6:04pm |

Yeah,i thought you guys would like that, couple of photos i found, look quite recent too.
Love to know what is on that teak-veneered stand in the background... Cabinet on the end on the main stack appears to have a 21" in it? The driver looks to big to be an 18? |

Yes,the truncated framed E or K110's. I dont recall JBL doing any 21" driver or cabinet, unless someone has shoehorned some other driver in there.
