Hi all, not been here for a while.
Currently sourcing this for a friend, he uses OHM TRS subs and tops and would like to have the option of using either Void Air Motion or FK One tops with Ohm bins. He's currently got 2 pairs of OHM TRS 218s, would like to know whether this would work and see whether any one has any for sale or even FK One mid-tops Thanks

No problem. Just a matter of deployment and LMS setup.
But why mix some lovely OHM with those speakers? Get some more TRS instead

Be aware that air motion need a 140 Hz crossover, so need to be deployed in close proximity to the subs, and subs capable of playing that high decently. F1 tops with bandpass midbass would be more flexible.

That depend what ones you’re thinking of - the Res 4 and Res 5 are factory crossed between 115 Hz and 130 Hz, depending on the subs they’re paired with. You’d need to consider Evo, Res 3 or Res 2 for a lower crossover point. The horn paths of those LF sections are similar lengths, and the mouth areas not too far off either so there’s no free lunches either way. This is all conjecture anyway, because mixing brand and boxes is fine - if you’re going to make sure that a custom set of settings is measured and tested properly. |
